My humble abode...

After posting my last blog, I realized I forgot to tell you all about my apartment. Shame, after all that hard work I did all day putting what I could together. Well, I'm going to make it up to you... with pictures!! That's better than describing it, I've decided. Ok here we go:

My living room (the first thing you see when you walk in toward the left):
That's my overwhelmingly large TV, so large in fact, that we had to put it on the coffee table instead of the entertainment center because it wouldn't fit.
I feel a bit ridiculous for bringing it but maybe I won't think so once I start playing wii on it! The living room did not look this good when I first got here but my roommate did some rearranging and now I really like it; it feels homey. Plus, the couch was originally by the furnace, which burnt a hole in the side of the couch...hence the blankets covering it up.

The dining area (to the right of the door):

It's nothing special, straight out of the 70's, but cute nonetheless.

The kitchen (dining area leads into the kitchen which is separated from the LR with a wall):

Little counter space but I really love it.

My room (walk through the living room, cross the hall way):

That's my little section right there! I know it's still pretty plain. I need shams so bad but they're so expensive. I haven't found a sham for under $25... for a stupid little decorative pillow! And I know what you all are thinking, "Jordan, that wall next to your bed is so drab and boring." Well, you needn't worry because I ordered a tapestry to hang on the wall.

Tapestry:

YAY!!!!!!!!!!! I'll be sure to post it when I hang it. I want to hang some pictures on the wall my head faces, although, I would be scared of them falling on my head.

Today, was filled with less self pity and more determination to conquer Santa Barbara/Goleta and make  it my bitch. It won at first when I tried to find multiple stores, couldn't find any, and made an embarrassing amount of u-turns, but after a good coffee break at Peet's and some reevaluating on google maps, I was able to finally kick it square in the booty. Following that I felt I was ready to try to take on the devil itself....the financial aid office. Well, I took one look at the line that was trailing out the door and decided to try again early in the morning. I really wanted to check out the gym near by anyways. I am amazed with the gym here; it has everything I could ever want...including a climbing wall. They have two swimming pools, several rooms with various equipment, racquet ball, weights, indoor cycling, yoga, etc etc the list goes on and on. I can't wait to actually use it.
When I got home, it was about the time I needed to start registering for my classes. Lo and behold, I actually got classes!! Granted, the classes I got are going to suck (o-chem and physics) but they're what I need in order to get fun classes in the future. I do still need more classes which means I still have to sit in on at least 2 classes but I am satisfied that I officially got the 2 most important classes. Also, I signed up for a jogging class, I'm ecstatic about that.
Since then, I've put some of my clothes away (I bought 46 hangers today and I think I need to buy at least 46 more) ...showered, groomed, and finished up season 2 of Dexter (why am I so anxious to start school when I live like this?).
Overall, it's been an eventful day in uneventful way and I loved it. But what could I possibly love more at this very moment? My two best friends and my amazing boyfriend coming out to see me tomorrow morning! That will be a good break after dealing with financial aid. Wish me luck with that.

P.S. I have to figure out a way to record the noise that goes on here at night and post it in a blog..it's hilarious.

Good night.
